Iluka is a very small town with a population of less than 1,800. There are very few restaurants so we ended up having dinner at the Club Iluka which is said to be the “social hub of Iluka”. If you are not a member you must sign in with ID. It was kind of a different dining experience.

One evening I stepped out on the front porch and saw several beautiful, pink chested birds on the front lawn. We researched them and found that they are called “Galahs” or “Rose Breasted Cockatoos”. They are one of Australia’s most abundant and widespread bird species.

The town is embraced by the sparkling waters of the Clarence River on one side and the pristine beaches of the Pacific Ocean on the other, creating a picturesque setting for water activities and relaxation.
