Heidelberg, Germany

Heidelberg was a nice city to explore. We visited the old town and saw some of the beautiful buildings including the Gothic Heiliggeistkirche (church) and the Haus zum Ritter (House of the Knight) which is now a hotel. We also climbed 315 steps to visit the Schloss Heidelberg (castle) which dates back to the 13th century and is said to be one of the most beautiful ruins in the world. We also visited the Deutsches Apotheken-Museum and saw the Heidelber Tun which is an enormous wine barrel which is located in the cellar of the castle.

Great views of the city from the hilltop where the castle was located!
