Torun, Poland

We had a quick trip to Torun, a lovely medieval town which was founded in the 13th century. It is referenced to be the “Gothic Jewel” of Poland and is famous for its gingerbread. It is also the birthplace of the famous astronomer, Nicolaus Copernicus and the Polish astronomer, Johannes Hevelius. Torun is one of the few Polish cities that we have visited that was not damaged during the war.
