We started our day at Saxon Garden where we saw several sandstone statues and the Tomb Of the Unknown Soldier. The tomb dates to 1925, and contains the body of a soldier who fell in the Battle of Lemberg of 1918-1919 between Poland and the West Ukrainian People’s Republic.  We arrived in time to see the changing of the guard which takes place every hour.

We also visited the Warsaw Uprising Monument which is a tribute to the Polish insurgents who fought in the failed attempt to end their city’s Nazi occupation.
