Mannheim, Germany

Much of Mannheim was heavily damaged during World War II and was rebuilt with modern infrastructure, rather than rebuilding as it was before the war. Mannheim is known as the “city of inventions” and is the birthplace of the automobile, the bicycle and the tractor.

Today we enjoyed a light lunch at the revolving Skyline Restaurant which is at the top of the observation tower. We explored the town and visited a few churches. My favorite was the Jesuitenkirche with its ornate and colorful interior.
