We took the 2 mile hike down to the cove at Kealakekua Bay which is the point where Captain Cook died in 1779. This is a very popular bay for snorkeling, but the only way to get there is by boat or by feet. The hike is quite steep as you near the bottom. The bay is beautiful and we saw hundreds of colorful fish from the water’s edge.
