The Imperial Castle in Poznań, Poland, also known as Zamek Cesarski, is a historic and architectural landmark built between 1905 and 1910. It was commissioned by the German Emperor Wilhelm and it served as the emperor’s residence during visits and later became a government building after Poland regained independence. Throughout its history, the castle has undergone various modifications, including during World War II when it was used as Adolf Hitler’s quarters, although Hitler never visited Poznan. Today, the Imperial Castle stands as a cultural center, housing museums, theaters, and hosting numerous events, symbolizing Poznań’s rich historical legacy.

We took the audio tour which was interesting and we learned a bit about it’s history. The castle is quite empty of furnishings, but several of the rooms are pretty.
