We started our day with a visit to the Court Church which is the most beautiful chapel that I have ever seen. Like much of Würzburg, the Court Church was severely damaged during the firebombing of March 1945. Although the vaults themselves largely withstood the initial inferno, prolonged exposure to fire and moisture led to significant damage and loss of the paintings and stucco. The reconstruction has taken decades to complete, but what a masterpiece it is!

We also strolled through the Court Gardens which are also very lovely.
