We only spent one day in Cochem but it was very nice. Cochem sits on the winding Moselle River, which is famous for its steep, sun-drenched vineyards.  The Moselle Valley is one of Germany’s most important wine regions, and Cochem is a central hub for wine production, especially Riesling. Reichsburg Cochem (Cochem Imperial Castle) is undoubtedly Cochem’s most iconic landmark. Perched dramatically on a hill high above the Moselle River, this fairy tale-like castle dates back to the 11th century. We explored the old town and enjoyed dinner at a nice Greek restaurant. We also rode the chairlift up to the Pinnerkreuz viewpoint where we had great views of Cochem and the surrounding countryside.
