Today we spent our day on the Buda side of the Danube River. Mathias Church and the Fisherman’s Bastion are lovely buildings. Fisherman’s Bastion was built in the early 2000’s but looks like a medieval monument. It was built specifically as a viewing platform  with great views of the Danube River, Margaret Island and Pest. It seemed that a lot of the buildings on that side of the river are being reworked. There was a lot of damage done to the city during World War II.
