Brandenburg Gate, Berlin, Germany

This was our first stop on our tour. Toby was interested in seeing the Brandenburg Gate as well as the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. The Brandenburg Gate is Berlin’s only surviving historical city gate and symbolizes Berlin’s Cold War division into the East and West.

We were not impressed with the Memorial to the Murdered Jews. It seems they could have done more with the space. It just seemed like a lot of big concrete blocks without explanation.
