We enjoyed our time in Basel. The Rhine River flows through Basel and it has one of the oldest bridges on the Rhine, Mittlere Brücke (Middle Bridge), which was built in 1226. Basel is situated where the borders of Switzerland, Germany and France meet.  The “old town” is nice with many beautiful buildings and cobblestone streets. My favorite buildings were the Town Hall and the Basier Munster Cathedral. I also liked the Tinguely-Brennen Carnival Fountain which merges sculptural machines with water. There are over 200 fountains in Basel and more than 40 museums so there is plenty to do and see. We had a lovely sunset from our hotel deck!
