Aukland, NZ (Albert Park & The Domain)

This is our first day in Auckland so we decided to take a walk and explore the area. We walked to Albert Park and the Domain. The Domain is the oldest and one of the largest parks in Auckland. It is home to the Auckland War Memorial Museum. They were preparing for the Veteran’s day celebration. We saw several members of the military and were surprised at the lack of discipline. They did not behave like military, but more like toy soldiers. They treated their weapons as though they were toys. Maybe they were fake guns, but we were appalled.

Both of the parks are lovely with beautiful flowers and really cool trees. We went into the Domain Wintergardens which is comprised of two glass houses filled with tropical and seasonal flowers.

We have much to explore in Auckland and the surrounding area!
